Overview
The Fundamentals of Acting programme mirrors the work on our short course acting and screen acting courses with additional work on audition technique and self-taping. The course will conclude with a scene showing to invited family and friends.
This course is designed for people who are starting their journey of exploring acting and actor training. It is recommended for students who do not have much experience and wish to learn more about this process with like-minded people. The course aims to equip students with the understanding and experience of the practice and discipline that is required to train in body, breath and voice as building blocks for acting. This will be through theatre games, discussion and workshops. On completion of the course, students should feel that their knowledge of the rigour and depth of the essential tools of acting can give them the confidence to consider further training.
Please please note that a short interview is part of your application. Interviews are an informal chat to talk through your interest in the course and what you hope to gain by taking part in it. If the interview slots are full, we will contact you to set one up.
Entry requirements
- Participants must be 18+
- Fluency in the English language is essential

1) Pay Full Fee in Advance: Simply pay the full fee of €1,600 via credit / debit card.
2) Pay in Instalments to The Lir Academy: You can pay The Lir Academy directly in 3 monthly instalments (€600 / €600 / €500). Note this option incurs an additional management charge of €100.
3) Pay for the course through Humm Ireland: You can apply for finance through https://www.shophumm.com/ie/ - and pay in monthly instalments over 12-36 months. Once you are approved just send us your mobile number and we'll get the ball rolling to finalise your finance with Humm Ireland. .
