Culture Night at The Lir Academy

Join us from 7-10pm on Culture Night to learn more about what we do at The Lir Academy.

Meet our students and tutors to experience what’s behind the scenes and try out some acting and technical exercises for yourself!

We’ll be offering:

• 7pm - 10pm Backstage tours of our performance and technical training areas (last tour leaves at 9.15pm)
• 7.15pm - 8.15pm 15min clinics with our CEO/Director Gemma Bodinetz
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Movement Class
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Dialect Class
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Voice Class
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Dance Class
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Scenic Department Demos
• 7.15pm and 8.15 pm Costume Department Demos (30min)
• 7pm - 10pm Lighting demonstration in Studio 1

Backstage tours of our performance and technical training areas - including visits to our construction, scenic and costume workshops, as well as a visit to the rehearsal room for our current production Love, Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare.

Clinics with our CEO/Director Gemma Bodinetz, join her for 15 mins to ask her anything about working in professional theatre or training at a conservatoire.

Join a 30-minute class in movement, dialect, voice, and dancing.

Join a lighting demonstration in Studio 1 and try your hand at creating illuminating a set.

Explore our costume department and our scenic department demos at 7.15pm and 8.15pm

You can sign up for all these events when you arrive on-site. Classes will commence at quarter last the hour and are recommends for participants aged 16+. Tours are running all night.
