All of the students from last year’s stage management and technical theatre class are working. They are working in theatres, for technical companies or they’re touring/working with national and international theatre companies.

AIDAN DOHENY
Aidan is Assistant Stage Manager with Tina’s Idea of Fun at The Abbey Theatre, Peacock.. Prior to this he was ASM on Cyprus Avenue also at The Abbey, Peacock.
AIMEE HAYES
Aimee is currently (as in..today!) moving to Stratford Upon Avon to work in the costume department for Wicked!
CONOR QUINN
Conor is camera assistant on RTE’s Red Rock series

DANIEL CUNNINGHAM
Rumour has it that Dan is working with Grange Park Opera in the UK.
ÉANNA WHELAN
Éanna is having a right ole time to himself touring in Australia. He worked at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, is going to be working as Sound Engineer for the International Jazz Festival in Melbourne in June and afterwards will be Head of Sound at Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
FODHLA O’BRIEN
Fodhla is constantly working on shows in and around Dublin. She’s just finished as Stage Manager in the Project Arts Centre on a play called Recovery and she has a few jobs up her sleeve for the coming months (top secret)
GORDON BELL
Gordon is currently in Glasgow with Rough Magic’s Northern Star. He is Stage Manager on this production which started in Dublin, is now in Glasgow and moves to Belfast on Monday. (great city Belfast..)
JOHN GUNNING
John is working as Chief LX on Opera Theatre Company’s tour of La Boheme until June after which he will be lighting Love+ which is produced by John’s own theatre company Malaprop and will be showing in the Project Arts Centre in the summer.
LIANE MCCARTHY
Liane is Deputy Stage Manager on Menopause the Musical on a national tour until November. She’s in good company as SMTT student from 2014 Phil Jennings is Technical Stage Manager on the same production.
RICHARD O’NEILL
Richie is full time theatre technician with the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
SARAH ROBB
Sarah is ASM/Head of Wardrobe also with Menopause the Musical touring in the UK.
SEAN MALONE
Sean is Crew Planner and Administrator at Avcom, one of The Lir Academy’s technical partners.
SOAZIG METROPE
Soazig has been working as Assistant Stage Manager and Stage Manager on several productions since leaving The Lir Academy. She was extremely busy around the time of Dublin Fringe Festival and Dublin Theatre Festival as were the rest of the SMTT students. She is currently working as Production Coordinator with Sugar Coat Theatre on their latest play Revolver.
The SMTT students are trained to the highest level in stage management, lighting, sound, wardrobe, scenic art, props, construction - in every aspect of working behind the scenes in a theatre, festival or corporate events.
