The Lir Auditions are coming to Belfast!

Lir Auditions to take place at The Lyric Theatre, Belfast in February.
We are delighted to announce that due to increasing demand, The Lir Academy will be holding auditions for the Bachelor in Acting degree and the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre at The Lyric Theatre in Belfast early next year. Loughlin Deegan, Director of The Lir Academy said “We’re thrilled that the number of applications from Northern Ireland is increasing year on year and to make it easier for the auditionees there, we thought we’d make the journey this time around” The Lir opened the application process for all undergraduate courses on 1st October and will be accepting applications until Monday 1st February which is also the date that auditions at The Lyric Theatre Belfast will take place. Anyone who applies to the Bachelor in Acting degree or the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre will automatically get an audition and anyone who applies to the Professional Diploma in Stage Management and Technical Theatre will get an interview. Of course if any applicant from Northern Ireland wishes to attend an audition at The Lir in Dublin, that is still an option but for anyone who would prefer to audition at The Lyric Theatre, the applicant is asked to include this in their application. Jimmy Fay, executive producer at The Lyric is delighted that the association between the two venues is growing from strength to strength. He said “The Lyric’s three-week residency at the Gaiety this autumn is further proof that the road between Belfast and Dublin is getting progressively shorter. We’re delighted to host the Lir as they audition for the first time in Northern Ireland, and look forward to building ever-stronger collaborations with this, one of the most prestigious and respected drama school in Ireland.”
