Intro to Acting - Sligo Weekend Workshop
2 days / Weekend
A practical weekend course that gives you an introduction to The Lir Academy's actor training - happening in Sligo. Deadline for booking is June 14th.
Overview
This course is designed to give you a taste of The Lir Academy's actor training through our ever-popular Introduction to Acting course over an intensive weekend.
Please note, deadline for booking is June 14th.
Led by leading Lir practitioner David Scott, this course is the perfect opportunity to experience the kinds of exercises and techniques to build your confidence as an actor. These are methods we use as part of actor training at The Lir Academy to learn to develop acting skills. The course will also give you a flavour of what the daily routine would be like as an acting student.
The Lir Academy's programmes require complete dedication to developing the body, voice and movement - honing your craft so that you emerge a more robust practitioner. The skills that our actors learn are through classes and modules to support the discipline and rigour physically needed to build on your own talent, as well as the critical thinking required, to approach a role.
This weekend course aims to give participants an understanding of all of this, under the guidance of an experienced tutor.
The course is suitable for all ages 18+, no experience necessary.
Content includes:
- Vocal and physical warm ups
- Ensemble play
- How to analyse a text and make interesting, detailed, dynamic choices.
