A weekend course that gives you an introduction to what it would be like to study at The Lir Academy - happening in Galway.
Overview
This course is designed to give you a taste of The Lir Academy over the course of an intensive weekend.
Led by leading Lir practitioner and Director Caroline Byrne, this course is the perfect opportunity to experience studying at The Lir Academy.
Content includes:
- Vocal and physical warm ups
- Ensemble play
- How to analyse a text and make interesting, detailed, dynamic choices.
About Caroline Byrne:
Caroline Byrne completed an MA in Actor Training and Coaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and studied at the Moscow Arts Theatre as part of her training. She works as an actor trainer and coach at The Actors Centre, East 15, RWCMD, Central School of Speech and Drama and The Lir Academy. She is also a professional director. Credits include Spring Awakening (Young Vic Theatre), Faustus: That Damned Woman (Headlong, Lyric Hammersmith co-pro) Woman and Scarecrow (RADA), All’s Well That Ends Well (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse) Katie Roche (National Theatre Ireland), Oliver Twist (Regents Park Open Air Theatre), The Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare’s Globe) Parallel Macbeth (Clare Theatre, Young Vic) Eclipsed (Gate Theatre, London), Shakespeare in a Suitcase (co-directed with Tim Crouch for RSC) and Portia Coughlan (The Abbey Theatre, Dublin)
