Overview

Are you a teenager with a passion for performance? If you're ready to take your skills to the next level, grow your confidence, and get a real taste of professional drama school training, this is your next step.

Welcome to The Lir Academy’s Youth Ensemble - the ultimate intensive training grounds for the next generation of theatre makers. Part of our renowned Youth Academy, this programme is specifically designed for young people ready to turn their passion into craft, performance, and potentially a lifelong career.

Youth Ensemble is part of our Youth Academy - teen drama classes for young people. They are taught by leading professionals, many of whom also teach on the Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre and the Bachelor in Acting undergraduate courses at The Lir Academy.

1) Youth Ensemble sessions run all day on Saturdays from September - May.

2) Included in the course fees is a 1-week intensive Easter Camp for all enrolled students,
serving as the official bridge from the classroom to the stage.

3) The course culminates in a 2-show end of year public performance for family and friends. in this process you will work with our network of professional theatre creatives including stage managers and producers, as well as set, lighting and costume designers.

Youth Ensemble provides practical experience in Voice (projection, breathing techniques, dialect etc), Acting and Movement, the three cornerstones of conservatoire training and will ultimately provide a platform for further training in acting, theatre or drama.

The Training Structure

Terms 1 & 2 (September – March)
Every Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, you will dive into rigorous, practitioner-based
training. You will master the three cornerstones of conservatoire training: Acting, Voice, and
Movement. From improvisation and taking direction to deep-diving into Stanislavski’s
system, this is where your foundation is built.

The Easter Camp | The Spark
The hard work meets the stage. This dedicated intensive is where rehearsals officially begin
for your end-of-year showcase.

Term 3 | The Production
The entirety of the final term is dedicated to rehearsals for your final production for an invited audience of friends and family. You won't just be acting; you will step into a professional company environment.
